Milk Cream And Vitamin E To Lighten Elbows And Knees

If you want to lighten the skin on the elbows or knees, it is recommended to consult a dermatologist. However, there are natural remedies to which bleaching properties are attributed.

The skin over the elbows and knees tends to be slightly thicker than other parts of the body, and since it lacks sebaceous glands, it can become dry. Faced with this situation, have you considered using a totally homemade milk and vitamin E cream?

The truth is that continuous exposure to dust, humidity and other environmental factors can cause dead cells to accumulate in the folds of the body that, over time, turn into dark spots and imperfections. This condition is known as acanthosis pigmentosa or acanthosis nigricans .

Sometimes the darkening is so noticeable that it is decided to  resort to whitening products and even natural remedies to which beneficial health properties are attributed, such as the milk cream and vitamin E that is presented in this article. Now does it really work?

Milk cream and vitamin E

The combination of ingredients in this homemade cream would result in a natural treatment to lighten darkened skin on the elbows and knees. It is prepared mainly with milk and vitamin E oil, two moisturizers widely used by Ayurvedic medicine.

Milk contains vitamin A, a fat-soluble substance that belongs to the category of retinoids and whose effectiveness in slowing down the premature aging process has been proven in different studies, such as this one by Advances in Dermatology and Allergology .

Furthermore, retinoids are known to regulate cell proliferation, strengthen the protective function of the epidermis, restrict transepidermal water loss, and protect collagen against degradation.

Regarding vitamin E, an article entitled Vitamin E in dermatology indicated that this substance protects the epidermis from oxidative stress that can generate inflammation and premature aging, in addition to playing an important role in photoprotection.

Thus, the combination of vitamin A and vitamin E would help minimize the appearance of dark spots and prevent the signs of premature aging. Due to its antioxidant action, it would help eliminate impurities adhered to the skin tissue and facilitate the absorption capacity of the skin to increase its softness and beauty.

These effects would be enhanced by the properties of lemon juice and glycerin. While the lemon would contribute its antibacterial properties, the glycerol would contribute to moisturize the skin.
